I’m living my true story, but the fiction wants to be
As important as factual things
Seduction of the pen and paper suffocating me
Tessellating tree, dying in a breeze
Shooting for the moon and landing in the weeds
Simple is the goal but complexity is king
Bow down to the throne of a book no one can read
Late afternoon I’m deep in the woods, not wanting to come back
Keep the pages turning, what’s the next step?
Are stories as important as life, sometimes I feel they are
Yeah I guess that art is what I live for
Sitting with these words below a trap door
As important as factual things are
I find I love the fiction, helping me to be
Without a rudder to steer this ship
Gives me land to stand on, blowing up the sun
Peering through the reeds, getting drunk on mead
Hyperspace engaged, and a lovely war is waged
Stones and swords and bones, found out we were clones
Awakening old gods, escape in escape pods
